As old as the Spanish vineyard, the Portuguese vineyard experienced significant growth during the Anglo-French conflicts. It was also at this time that two English merchants accidentally discovered a wine which had the distinction of being added with brandy, the secret of production of the abbot who produced it. With its peculiar taste, Port wines enjoyed some success in England. Porto is one of the first appellations of origin inspected.

the city of Porto today represents 80% of production with its famous wines. Produced in the Portuguese region of Haut Douro. The wines produced are renowned for their sweetness and aromatic character, as well as for their aging potential, although there is a distinction between basic Porto (Ruby or Tawny) and vintage Ports, which age and are tasted like great wines. Among them, Burmester, selection 12bouteilles, one of the oldest domain recognized for its expertise worldwide.
