Oregon wines
The Oregon region is known for its strict adherence to international designations, a region where quality is skyrocketing and prices are already starting to match those in Burgundy.
Indeed, the state of Oregon has very great climatic similarities with our region of Burgundy. Oregon is therefore a perfect terrain for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grape varieties. The climate makes it possible to have vintages with greater differences than in California. Some years can therefore create vintages of incredible quality.
The region is also able to produce grapes from the northernmost regions of Europe. Among these varieties we find of course Pinot Gris, Sauvignon, Riesling or the famous Gewurztraminer. The vineyard has four regions of different production; Rogue Valley, AVA (most famous production area), Hood Valley and Umpqua. It is therefore not surprising that Domaine Drouhin is thus the largest producer in the region and produces some of the best pinots in the world.
At 12 bottles, we selected the wines of Domaine Drouhin, the first producer in the region, managed by the famous Burgundy family. We enjoyed the wines of Roserock, an extraordinary vineyard south of the Eola-Amity Hills, including Roserock Chardonnay 2015 and Roserock Pinot Noir 2014. As well as the Dundee Hills Valley Cuvée Arthur Chardonnay 2015 and Dundee Hills Pinot Noir 2014. Oregon, the new Burgundian eldorado!
