The Viognier grape is a very old grape, originally and still only grown in the appellations of Condrieu and Ampuis. Especially used in the production of single-varietal wines in the Rhône Valley region, it can also be combined with 20% Syrah grapes in Côtes du Rhône wines.
Outside France, this grape is also very popular, as for example in the United States and Australia, the latter country where it represents more than 70% of the vineyards planted in whites.
The Viognier variety offers very fine white wines, scented and aromatic. To test as soon as possible!
