Morgon Wines
Morgon is one of the 10 Beaujolais Crus and its wines are highly appreciated for their size and potency. In 2008, the AOC covered 1,090 hectares, the major grape is Gamay black with white juice, three others are authorized as accessory grape varieties, limited to 15% within each plot: the aligoté, the chardonnay and the melon . Charnus, the wines of Morgon have beautiful aromas of very ripe red fruits. The garnet color is amazingly deep.
These wines are often cited as the most outstanding in the region. Deep garnet color, aromas of ripe stone fruits: cherry, peach, apricot, plum. it is a rich, fleshy and powerful wine that gets better with time. It is often compared to tasting the best Burgundy wines.
