Château Baret: A Refined Expression of Pessac-Léognan

A historic estate rooted in exceptional terroir

Located in Villenave d'Ornon, just outside Bordeaux, Château Baret is one of the hidden gems of the Pessac-Léognan appellation. Spanning 40 hectares, with 25.8 hectares under vine, the estate cultivates both red and white Bordeaux varietals. The gravelly soils, rich in clay and sand, ensure excellent drainage, contributing to healthy vines and well-structured, concentrated wines.

The vineyard is planted with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon for reds, Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon for whites—classic grape varieties that capture the finesse and complexity of the region. Winemaking at Château Baret merges traditional know-how with modern techniques, from hand-harvesting and gentle pressing to precise temperature-controlled fermentation and oak ageing.

Thanks to a mild oceanic climate with warm summers and gentle winters, grapes ripen perfectly, revealing the full character of this prestigious terroir. The result is wines that are both powerful and refined, offering a true reflection of Pessac-Léognan’s potential.

Elegant wines for discerning palates

The red wines from Château Baret stand out for their depth, elegance, and aging potential. Aged in oak barrels for up to 18 months, they deliver aromas of dark berries, sweet spices, and subtle toasted notes. The white wines, dominated by Sauvignon Blanc, are fresh, mineral, and aromatically expressive.
