Château Gazin Rocquecourt: Elegance and Excellence from Pessac-Léognan

A historic estate with a renewed ambition

Located in the heart of the prestigious Pessac-Léognan appellation, just south of Bordeaux, Château Gazin Rocquecourt is a prime example of a historic estate that has embraced modern viticulture while preserving its deep-rooted identity. With centuries of heritage, the château entered a new chapter in 2006 under the ownership of the Bonnie family, who initiated a complete revitalization of the vineyard and winemaking facilities.

Today, the estate spans approximately 26 hectares and benefits from deep gravel soils—an emblematic feature of the region. These well-drained soils store heat during the day and release it at night, enabling optimal grape ripening. This unique terroir contributes to the wines’ distinctive mineral notes, refined structure, and balance.

The vineyard is planted with traditional Bordeaux varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, and Sémillon. With a strong focus on sustainable farming, the estate is certified High Environmental Value (HVE) and includes plots undergoing organic and biodynamic conversion. This ecological commitment reflects a broader vision of environmental stewardship and long-term vineyard health.

Château Gazin Rocquecourt’s red wines are celebrated for their aromatic depth, silky tannins, and excellent aging potential. They deliver complex layers of black fruits, subtle spice, and mineral-driven finesse—qualities that define the finest Bordeaux expressions.
