Clos de L'Oratoire: A Refined and Seductive Grand Cru Classé from Saint-Émilion

A prestigious terroir and expert winemaking

Nestled on the limestone-clay slopes of northeastern Saint-Émilion, Clos de L'Oratoire benefits from a privileged terroir that produces grapes of outstanding ripeness and aromatic depth. Covering 10 hectares, the estate's vineyard is predominantly planted with Merlot (90%), completed by equal parts Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.

This blend results in a full-bodied wine with complexity, elegance, and silky texture. The Merlot brings plush fruit and roundness, while the Cabernets add structure and aging potential. Vinification is carried out with great precision, and aging takes place in carefully selected French oak barrels, enhancing the wine’s richness and longevity.

On the nose, Clos de L'Oratoire reveals powerful aromas of ripe black fruits—blackberries and cherries—layered with hints of licorice, sweet spices, and cocoa. The palate is smooth and generous, with fine tannins and a long, harmonious finish that underscores its Grand Cru pedigree.

With proper cellaring, Clos de L'Oratoire can age gracefully for 15 to 20 years, evolving toward greater depth and complexity. For optimal enjoyment, decant one hour before serving at a temperature of 16–18°C.
