Château Haut-Batailley is a 22 hectare vineyard located in Pauillac, the fifth Grand Cru Classé of Pauillac in the official classification of Bordeaux wines from 1855, producing wines of great finesse, with a good density and a nice balance. The grape variety is composed of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. It is said that his name comes from a battle that took place between English and French during the 100 years war. The property belongs to François-Xavier Borie, also at the head of Château Grand Puy Lacoste other Pauillac Cru Classé. Chateau Haut Batailley produces a second wine Château la Tour l’Aspic.
