Chateau Cantenac Brown is a 3rd Growth of Margaux, located in Cantenac, in the heart of the Margaux appellation. The château was founded over 200 years ago by a Scottish man, John Lewis Brown. This visionary selected the best terroirs: his work and his high standards were consecrated in 1855 by the classification that placed Cantenac Brown among the greatest.testifying to its Scottish ancestry, the emblem of the property is its spectacular Tudor-style château, which makes it the most remarkable property in the Médoc. The château is now managed by the Le Lous family. Tristan Le Lous, an agricultural engineer with a passion for oenology, is very involved in the management of the estate and forms a duo with José Sanfins (General Manager and Winemaker) who is inseparable from the modern history of the estate. The 63 hectare vineyard is spread over the plateaux of Margaux and Cantenac. Composed of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc, the plurality of terroirs allows a great richness in the blends. A remarkable project will see the light of day for the 2023 harvest: the construction of an eco-responsible winery, entirely made of raw earth and wood.
