Château Boyd-Cantenac
Château Boyd Cantenanc is a Margaux 3rd Classified Growth of an area of 17 hectares in the heart of the Margaux appellation. The vineyard is planted on lean and draining Quaternary siliceous gravel soils that give warm soils and allow deep rooting of the vine. the property belongs to the family Guillemet since 1932 which produces a wine of the most representative of the traditional style of Margaux. Their magic is to present finesse, elegance, subtlety, complexity, density, intensity, freshness and length. Several second wines (Jacques Boyd, Joséphine de Boyd-Cantenac and La Croix de Boyd-Cantenac) offer nuances and different personalities, all of which are part of the traditional profile of Margaux wines. The second wines of Château Boyd-Cantenac result from assembling the products of the young vines and batches which appeared, from the harvest, more suitable for a tasting in the five to twelve years. Lighter than the first wines, they are also more fruity and require less time to reach their peak. They are elaborated to be more quickly appreciated and consumed than the Château Boyd-Cantenac wine, which requires a longer aging in bottle to reveal all its abilities to move us.
